Vanishing Destinations: Drying Wetlands
The 4000 miles
of wetland at the confluence of Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna
rivers and which hosts the rare Indian tiger, tree-climbing fish
and other rare animals is predicted to be gone by end of the 21st
Century. The reason is attributed to over-logging, over-fishing
and excessive silt from the deforestration of Himalayas.
